Untitled design (1)

My current vision for the second bedroom AKA the vanity room (or powder room because of that cute Hearth & Hand sign). This room is where I get ready every morning, I keep all of my clothes (and all of my makeup… and shoes and..), is solely for *my* stuff. And I’m so appreciative that I have this space! But currently, I’m unhappy with it. It feels unorganized and that it’s just kind of thrown together.

I don’t have a rug to make the room feel warm or homey. My dresser is from approximately 1972 (and yellowing white wicker). I currently have this vanity, including the desk and drawers from IKEA, the vanity mirror, and the floor mirror from Target. It’s like I have so many amazing pieces but I haven’t quite figured out how to put it all together yet.

Ultimately, I’d like a nice neutral, boho style for this room, to mix it up from the current modern-industrial look I have strewn across the remainder of the house. I’d also like an accent chair or space to sit and relax, read a book or check my social media. And it wouldn’t hurt to have some pieces that can readily be available for a potential nursery to take over this room (one day). Although it will hurt my heart to give up my vanity room for a room with no window. But babies > beauty, and babies need sunlight, amirite?

My first step will be painting this room from an ugly baby blue to a crisp, fresh white. I’m ooOoOover the baby blue and ready for the fresh palette. Blue just doesn’t fill my vision for a beautiful, airy, bohemian palace.

Will anyone read this? Will this site dissapear into the abyss? Not sure yet. But I figured I’d try. And blogging about what I love; interior decor, home styling and lifestyle, is worth giving it a shot. Few things bring me greater joy than interior decorating and sharing things I like!

So if you’re here, reading this, thank you. And welcome along for the ride. I hope to create this into something. Something worth looking at. Something that interests people, helps them in some way, and maybe even possibly inspires them.

And until I figure out this page layout nonsense (where did my coding skills from Myspace go?), please enjoy my humble beginnings.

xx, Kylie Lane Fontaine
